Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These terms cover using the Alarmingly app and, if you choose to subscribe, Alarmingly Pro. By installing or using Alarmingly, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Alarmingly is
Alarmingly reads your connected calendar (Microsoft 365 or Google) and fires a loud, full-screen alarm ahead of your meetings, at a lead time you choose. Calendar access is read-only; the app never changes your calendar. More detail is covered in the Privacy Policy — these terms are about using the app itself, not about your data.
Accounts and sign-in
You sign in through Microsoft's or Google's own sign-in screens, and your use of those accounts is also governed by Microsoft's and Google's own terms. Alarmingly never sees or stores your password. You're responsible for keeping your device and accounts secure.
Alarmingly Pro (subscriptions)
Alarmingly's free tier covers one connected account. Alarmingly Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional accounts, account colours, a faster refresh interval, and Do Not Disturb.
- Free trial. Alarmingly may offer a 15-day trial of Pro features, started from within the app. It requires no payment method and does not automatically convert into a paid subscription — it simply ends, and the app reverts to the free tier unless you separately subscribe.
- Paid subscriptions are billed and managed by Google Play, on a monthly or annual plan you choose at checkout. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are handled entirely by Google Play under its own terms — Alarmingly never processes or stores your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; to cancel, or to see pricing and billing history, use Google Play's own subscription management (Play Store app → Payments & subscriptions).
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy, not by Alarmingly directly.
- Downgrading — a trial or subscription ending — never deletes anything you've configured. Settings that need Pro simply stop taking effect until Pro is active again (see the Privacy Policy's description of what's stored locally).
Please read this part: alarms can fail
Alarmingly is built to be reliable, but it cannot make guarantees that depend on things outside the app — your device's battery optimisation settings, notification permissions, exact-alarm permissions, connectivity to Microsoft's or Google's servers, or the device being on and functioning at all. Alarmingly is not a substitute for a dedicated alarm clock, a medical or safety device, or any alert you rely on for an emergency or otherwise cannot afford to miss. Use it for what it's for — a louder nudge before a meeting — and keep a backup for anything more critical than that.
Acceptable use
Use Alarmingly only for its intended purpose, on calendars and accounts you're authorised to access. Don't attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or abuse the app or the services it connects to.
No warranty, limitation of liability
Alarmingly is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alarmingly's developer is not liable for any missed meeting, missed alarm, or any direct or indirect loss arising from using or being unable to use the app, including losses caused by the platform limitations described above.
Changes
The app, its features, and these terms may change over time. If these terms change, the "Last updated" date above will change with them. Continuing to use Alarmingly after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Ending your use
You can stop using Alarmingly at any time by signing out and/or uninstalling it. A paid subscription continues until you cancel it through Google Play — uninstalling the app on its own does not cancel a subscription.
